Your Feedback on the review work done on my  blog, “www.banajaprakashini.wordpress.com”.

The name of the blog “The Lazy Writer’ is very interesting but there is nothing lazy about the reviews that have been posted. The books reviewed seemed interesting and I can tell the books that have been picked up for review are unique and carry a bold and strong essence in the story. The rating and the details related to the rating are well balanced. The feedback is honest and constructive and as an author I think it’s great that the blog provides the reason for the rating.

The reviews are very structured and honest. There is a touch of boldness to the reviews that back up the honesty factor and are clearly not written to please the author but to help them. The writing style of the review is very cool and casual (justifying the name in a way  ) with good language.

The blog is written to provide the right amount of information to a potential reader and makes their decision about adding the book to their list of ‘Want to Read’ very easy.

The blog also has author interviews, if not many, they were interesting to read and I would have liked to see more interviews, maybe an interview for all the authors whose books are reviewed. I am pretty sure readers would want to know more about their favorite authors.

I’ve added the blog to my favorites and look forward to reading more reviews.

_ INTERVIEW_

1. When did the story weave itself in your mind? Any specific incidents?

I am very glad you asked this question because this is one story I had a few personal incidents and I took the incidents as a sign to pen this story. Prior to writing the story, I was getting ready to work on a different story when these incidents played in my mind and got me to write this story. I did use one of my personal incidents in the book as an event that happens with the lead character with a variation.

One of the incidents happened many years ago when a gentleman kept smiling at me while I stood in line to pick up my drink at a local coffee shop. I was with my coworkers and did not want to over react to a stranger trying to get my attention from a few feet away. I ignored him after glaring at him briefly. He finally came up to me while I waited to pick up my drink and apologized for trying to get my attention and for making me feel uncomfortable with his stares. He went on to tell me that he has a friend who looked just like me and pulled up a picture of her on his phone and showed it to me. The woman in the picture had similar features like me and I wondered what the odds were of someone looking so much like me for a friend to think it was her.

That was an orphan incident that I was able to tie to a similar incident that happened a few weeks before I started wrting the story of ‘The Evil Twin?”

2.What was the journey of the book till it got published?

The day I had someone look at me like they recognized me but just kept looking at me, like they were debating if they should talk to me was when the story was born. I wondered if it was possible for me to have a twin that was separated at birth (I know, crazy  ) and that was the spark I needed to get started with the story.

I was about to publish the second part of my Pure Destoiny series and was itching to write a standalone story with romance, family, friendship with a touch of mystery and used my personal incidents to kick off the story.

‘The Evil Twin?” holds a special place in my heart because of what the main character, Vinnie goes through in her life. I would say the journey from the day the story started to fall into place to the day I hit publish on Amazon, I throughly enjoyed working on the story and I hope the readers enjoy reading as much as I did writing Vinnie and Reyan’s love story.

3. Who/What is your inspiration in daily life?

My inspiration for this story were the personal incidents that occurred years apart but fell into place like missing pieces of a thousand piece puzzle.

I feel blessed to be able to draw inspiration from everything I see, every person I meet and every single incident I hear about every single day. I personally believe that inspiration finds you, the author in many different forms and the job of the author is to connect the dots and write the story.

I’ve heard horror stories of people who get stuck with writing a certain part of their story for many different reasons and I can’t even begin to imagine how it feels. I don’t know if it is as easy as I think it is to be able to experiece something and decide to write about it but I’m sure it is possible, if you let your inspirationn find you, help your creativity thrive as you weave your stories.

One example of how I think inspiration found me was this person looking at me like they found a loved one they had lost many years ago and we experience many different things that authors can channel for a part of their story or as the core piece of their story.

4. How would you explain your book to someone who hasn’t read it yet?

‘The Evil Twin?’ is a story of a strong and smart young woman who has been through a lot and thinks she can take on anything life tends to throw her way, until Reyan enters her life. He introduces new relationships and challenges that seem to make her deviate from her controlled life but she realizes how important the relationships are to her and yet again just as she starts to let her guard down she finds out something about herself that she had never even imagined or had the slightest clue.

The burn of betrayal threatens to consume her, she fights her insticts to shut everyone out and with Reyan’s abundant love and support she learns to embrace her destiny, learns to accept love that is deeper and eternal.

5. Any word of advice for authors and bibliophiles out there?

I am a new author and need all the advice I can get and I hope to be in a position to advice another author soon. 

I do have one ask from my fellow authors and that is for them to keep writing and to write from their hearts. A lot of authors limit themselves from writing content that they want to write with the fear of being judged but a story or an emotion is not justified if an author doesn’t express everything they want to through their writing.

There are no rules to writing YOUR story, write it the way you want to and the way you would want it to be if you were to read it. Take advice and be open to receiving honest and harsh feedback and figure out a way to turn in into something constructive.

For all the bibliophile out there, my only ask is that you keep supporting indie authors like you have been for years and show your support by taking the time to post a review.

A few lines will do and I think I can speak on behalf of all the indie authors out there when I say, it doesn’t matter how many stars you give the book—just tell me if you liked it or you hated it and why so I can do a better job next time. 
